After completing a Housing Needs Assessment in 2023, the Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority approached KUA for help in developing a vacant 3-acre site near downtown Dalton. KUA provided a creative site design focused on attainable, for-sale housing and provided a new zoning district for the City to utilize for this project and similar future projects. KUA brought city officials to Atlanta to tour similar housing developments, in order to secure support for the project and zoning district. KUA also guided the client through achieving a Rural Workforce Housing grant from DCA and setting up a successful RFP for the project. The project is currently in construction.
