In an early test of KUA’s adaptive reuse expertise, the firm was commissioned to convert the former auto repair warehouse of NASCAR legend, Red Vogt, into law offices and retail space. KUA provided a strategic site and building feasibility study to verify the viability of our client’s space and parking requirements. Unique characteristics of the building, including several solid concrete car ramps connecting the interior floorplates, had to be considered and managed in the new design. The finished product delivers office and retail space on a challenging urban site with significant topography and narrow lot dimensions while maintaining the unique character of the historic building.
