The neighborhood of Carey Park in NW Atlanta, though platted over 100 years ago, is largely undeveloped. KUA was engaged by local developers who had acquired over 30 acres of scattered properties throughout the neighborhood, to come up with a long-term vision plan to develop and revitalize this long-neglected area. KUA developed a neighborhood master plan, and led the rezoning efforts for an extensive PD-H (planned development- housing). The plan includes infrastructure, green spaces, a variety of creative mixed-income housing options, and a new neighborhood center. Rezoning efforts were completed in 2021, and the first phase of mixed-income housing is currently in development.
