It’s been over a month since we moved into our new office in Reynoldstown, and we’re now comfortably settled in. The very talented Fredrik Brauer stopped by to shoot some photos after the move-in chaos calmed down, and we’re excited to share the results with you below! Bearden Temple AME church was constructed in 1922 in Reynoldstown, in intown neighborhood in east Atlanta. KWA was able to save the original Stone Mountain granite walls, stained glass windows, and interior elements such as the choir and wood floors that were installed after a devastating fire in December 1950. The project, which is located on the Beltline and is a short walk from the Reynoldstown/Inman Park MARTA station, is a clear embodiment of KWA’s mission of conscious urban placemaking: intelligent and responsible urban renewal that strengthens the surrounding community.
