PURIFICATION HERITAGE CENTER - GROUNDS
LOCATION: Sharon, GA
SIZE: 200 acres
STATUS: Completed 2024
The Purification Heritage District resides in Taliaferro County, home to the darkest skies and the smallest population in the state of Georgia. It is in this remote place where the first Catholic settlement was established by a small but dedicated community. Over 200 years later, an equally dedicated community is restoring the land and honoring the heritage of this sacred rural area. Heritage Preserve is a 200-acre retreat center that beckons visitors to escape their busy lives in a peaceful, nature-filled setting. KUA led master planning efforts, designed multiple structures, and aided in the development coordination of the first three phases of this ambitious project. KUA continues to lead and advise on master planning efforts for the larger district.
