Armour Yards, developed as an industrial hub due to its proximity to rail lines and interstates, is an isolated island between major areas of the City. Despite its limited connectivity, it has been successfully reinventing itself for the past 20 years. While connectivity to Armour Yards has historically been limited, it sits at a confluence of trails and transit, and is well-positioned to become a model hub of multimodal connectivity. KUA studied the district and provided strategies and recommendations to better leverage existing and future development, including streetscape and transportation improvements, critical infrastructure connections, relationship building with key partners, stormwater improvements, underutilized land strategies, and zoning / CDP updates. KUA has also designed and renovated multiple buildings in the district.
