NORWICH CORRIDOR PILOT
LOCATION: Brunswick, GA
SIZE: 2.5 mile corridor
STATUS: Report issued Spring 2018
In the Oglethorpe-designed port city of Brunswick, Georgia, a once-thriving commercial corridor is now largely abandoned and neglected. In an effort to revitalize the struggling Norwich corridor, the City of Brunswick brought in local and national partners to craft strategies and visions, using an incremental development toolbox to put underutilized assets back into productive use. KUA led a year-long public engagement with the City, including a team of consultants for public engagement, market analysis and transportation improvements. A final report was produced and presented at the 2018 Congress for the New Urbanism in Savannah, and engagement remains ongoing with the City for implementation efforts.
